Personally, I believe that for someone to be in Cybersecurity, you must find ways to constantly sharpen your skills and expose yourself to new technologies in order to stay relevant and up-to-date. And this is crucial especially for me working as an educator to constantly expose students to new knowledge and practices that are happening within the industry.
From 13th to 29th September 2024, I decided to take a leap of technical faith by participating in one of the most gruelling CTF competitions in Singapore known as The InfoSecurity Challenge (TISC) 2024 organized by CSIT. To be honest, I didn’t really expect much because I was just there for the experience.
But it has been SOOOOO long since I stayed up throughout the nights (sometime till mornings, knowing that I still have work later) to attempt the various challenges (12 in total). in the end, I only managed to clear 8 levels, however I was totally shocked that I was ranked 30th (out of like 1.3K active participants I guess?)
So I’d like to give a shout-out to the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) for organizing this event! And now thanks to you guys, I’m more pumped to try out more CTFs that are happening in Singapore!
